Giving Back to the Community
Donna Bass, Coldwell Banker Agent in the Macon, Georgia office, moved to Macon a little over a year and has always enjoyed giving back to her community. So when an opportunity came up that was near and dear to her heart (housing), she jumped in with both feet. Donna is the Project Manager for The Grace House renovation, a home that was donated to LOTS, an organization where she volunteers.
L-O-T S, which stands for Least of These Sharing, is a 501-C3 organization which consists of a group of individuals committed to helping others by teaming up with local organizations, to facilitate the most efficient sharing between givers and receivers- joining hands with local organizations by being the living, breathing, body of Christ.
As Project Manager, she is organizing volunteers, soliciting donations from local businesses and individuals and pitching in on her Saturdays to help scrape, sand, paint, cleanup or provide lunch for those who show up to volunteer. Materials, such as tiles, nails, faucets, shingles, screws, tubs, windows, paint, copper wire, door knobs, siding, ceiling fans and more, are needed to complete the project. She also helped coordinate with one local business to do a fundraising project by holding a chicken BBQ dinner that raised over $4,000.00! She speaks with local churches and community organizations to share the LOTS story and message that "we all having something to give."
